In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process
2) The possible collapse of the US dollar this fall

The USA and the EU continue to call upon Israel and the PLO to restart peace talks based upon 1967 borders with agreed land swaps as outlined by President Obama in a recent speech he gave on the Middle East peace process.  The USA and the EU are giving signals of political isolation of Israel. There was a meeting of EU foreign ministers and various Arab countries where the main subject was Israel and the peace process but Israel was not invited to this event.  President Obama warned that there may be more tactical disagreements with Israel in the future.  The PLO have said that even if peace talks are restarted they will continue with their plans to go to the UN to seek recognition of a PLO state.  Israel says that the PLO must recognize Israel as a Jewish state as a baseline to restart peace talks.  So far, there are about 118 nations who have expressed willingness to recognize a PLO state at the UN. In order for a resolution to pass in the UN General Assembly, the PLO needs  at least 128 nations to support their cause.  The EU says that under certain conditions they may vote to recognize a PLO state at the UN.  Hizbollah has said that if Assad of Syria looks like his government will fall from power that they will start a war with Israel to protect Assad.

Finally, Pastor Lindsey Williams gives a special report indicating that according to his global elite contacts that the other Arab countries will fall and the last country to fall will be Saudi Arabia. When Saudi Arabia falls, oil will go to $150 – $200 a barrel.  The US will open oil fields that were discovered over 30 years ago.  The US will default on its debt.  This fall gold will increase 20% – 25%.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

LEAP2020 website (leap2020.eu) in their May, June and July monthly reports are warning of a collapse of the US dollar this fall. Russia and China will begin trading between each other in their own currencies rather than the US dollar. This weakens the US dollar being the international reserve currency.

Worldwide economic collapse resulting in a one-world currency is a tribulation event.

In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process

The USA along with the European Union through the influence of France is making an effort to try to restart peace talks between Israel and the PLO.  They want any future peace talks to be based upon 1967 borders with agreed land swaps as outlined by President Obama in his May 19th speech. This policy was endorsed in the past week by a group of 46 European and Asian countries.  In an effort to do so, the USA invited Israel representative Isaac Molcho and PLO representative Erekat to the USA to find a way to restart talks.

The USA is applying pressure upon the PLO by threatening to veto through the UN Security Council a PLO request through the United Nations this coming September to recognize a PLO state and withhold economic aid.  The PLO indicated that they are willing to have peace talks with Israel if Israel will stop building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.  If the US does veto through the UN Security Council a request by the PLO for recognition of a PLO state this September, the PLO indicated that they may alternatively ask the UN to implement the UN partition plan of November 29, 1947 which called for a Jewish state, an Arab state and Jerusalem being an international city.  Furthermore, if there are peace talks, the PLO have also stated that they will seek recognition of a PLO state through the United Nations anyhow.  The PLO are lobbying nations of the world with particular emphasis on European countries to recognize a PLO state this September at the UN through the UN General Assembly. Israel is doing the same against support of a PLO state.

Israel has stated that they are willing to have peace talks with the PLO without preconditions.  The USA expressed disappointment with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for not willing to have peace talks based upon Obama’s parameters of 1967 borders with agreed land swaps.  It seems that Obama put forth his Middle East policy and gave his speech in part to try to make the claim that he is pro-Israel but lay the blame for failure of peace talks upon Netanyahu so that Israel can be politically isolated from the international community at a future time.  Israel has stated that if the UN recognizes a PLO state this September that they will no longer be obligated to the Oslo accords of 1993 or any agreement made with the PLO in the past 18 years.  In an Israeli poll, the Israeli people are overwhelmingly in favor of Netanyahu’s policies that protect the security interests of Israel without dividing the city of Jerusalem.  There is a meeting in Jerusalem this coming week of those outside the Israel government to discuss the possibility of declaring the sovereignty and independence of Judea-Samaria (West Bank) in the event that the United Nations recognize a PLO state.  Finally, Egypt has recognized the Muslim brotherhood as an official political party.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process

Israel and the PLO disagree on parameters for a peace agreement in 5 key areas. They are:  borders and land swaps, Hamas and recognition of Israel, control of the Jordan Valley, Jerusalem and the “Arab Spring”. It appears that the PLO are seeking to implement the strategy contained in the 1974 phased-plan destruction of Israel. A leading Fatah official said that Fatah has never recognized Israel and never will.  Mahmood Abbas does not want a single Jew in a PLO state. The Arab League voted to discontinue seeking peace talks with Israel and instead recommended to the PLO that they try to obtain recognition of a PLO state at the United Nations in September.  Israel says that they can’t stop the PLO from seeking to obtain UN recognition of a PLO state in September. In order to implement this plan, the PLO must begin the process in mid-July. In order to convince the West of a moderate image, Mahmood Abbas wants Salam Fayyad as the PLO Prime Minister. The PLO will be conducting civilian marches on the borders of Israel to protest the results of the 1967 war beginning June 5.  PLO officials warn that this could be the beginning of the 3rd intifada. Israel is not convinced that the Obama has persuaded Europe against recognizing a PLO state in September.  Spain has announced that it will support a PLO state at the United Nations this September. Perhaps in order to justify their political position of supporting a PLO this September, France has announced that they are willing to host an Israeli-PLO peace conference in Paris this July. Will there be war in the Middle East this summer? Will the UN recognize a PLO state this September? Based upon the current stalemate in the peace process, war or UN recognizing of a PLO state this September seems to be where the current road is heading.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process
2) The prospects of war in the Middle East
3) The prospects for a collapse of the euro and US dollar

Obama gave a speech to AIPAC where he attempted to clarify his meaning of a PLO state “based upon 1967 borders with agreed land swaps”.  Obama stated that Israel withdrawing to the 1967 borders has been a longstanding policy of the USA. Netanayahu gave a speech to AIPAC and to the US Congress where he outlined Israel’s parameters for a peace agreement with the PLO.  Netanyahu rejected that Israel return to the 1967 borders. The PLO stated that if Israel doesn’t agree to return to the 1967 borders that they will seek to have a PLO state recognized by the UN in September. A UN official said that if the US vetoes recognition of a PLO state that the United Nations is forbidden to recognize a PLO state through the General Assembly. A leading spokesman for the PLO stated that the unity agreement with Hamas is intended to free “all of Palestine”.  The PLO clearly does not recognize a 1948 state of Israel.  Netanyahu has stated that the conflict with the PLO is not 1967 borders but 1948 borders.

While Obama has stated that US policy is that the settlements are “illegal” and that Israel must return to the 1967 borders which also implies the dividing of Jerusalem, he is trying to portray himself as pro-Israel. He went to Europe asking the EU to not recognize a PLO state this September at the UN.  He laid a wreath at the Jewish Warsaw ghetto in Poland.  It is reported that the US is seeking to get the PLO and Israel to agree to peace talks with Obama in the USA. Russia (a member of the Quartet) has stated that it will support a PLO state with East Jerusalem as its capital at the UN this September.  Leading figures in Israel who endorsed the “Israeli Peace Initiative” are in Cairo to discuss the peace plan with the Egyptians.

While Obama and Netanyahu talk peace, the PLO is preparing for war. More civilian borders protests are planned for June 3-7.  From the last border protest of May 15,  Syrian and Hizbullah spies crossed into Israel and are being hidden by the PLO. They are military personnel who are expected to help the PLO in any war with Israel. Egypt has opened the border crossing into the Gaza. Hamas can now smuggle weapons into the Gaza strip. A Gaza flotilla is expected in June.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

Civil war is near in Yemen.  Turkey is distancing itself from Syria.  The US and the EU have imposed sanctions upon Syria.  After Libya, Pastor Lindsey Williams has reported that he was told that the global elite are planning to cause Yemen to fall followed by Syria.  Current events are in progress which could see these expectations happen in the near future.  Meanwhile, Pakistan is concerned with US interference in its nation and has asked China to build a naval base near the Persian Gulf. China has warned the US that if it interferes with Pakistan that it will wage war with the US.

The Greece government is having emergency meetings regarding if they are going to conform to the economic austerity measures which the IMF and the EU has imposed upon it.  If Greece does not conform, the IMF has threatened to withhold loans which makes it risky that Greece will have to declare bankruptcy.  If Greece goes bankrupt then other EU countries like Ireland, Portugal and Spain risk going bankrupt also.  Meanwhile, the United Nations sees risk of a crisis of confidence in the US dollar if the US doesn’t get its economic house in order which could cause the US to declare bankruptcy. If the US declares bankruptcy then there would be a need to replace the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency with a global currency.

May 21, 2011: Weekly 5 minute update (Audio Only)

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

You may view the 5 minute update this week via audio:

1) Listen to the audio

In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process
2) The buildup in the Middle East for war with Iran

On May 15, the PLO protested the birth of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948.  Unarmed protestors stormed the borders of Israel along the Gaza,  Syria,  Lebanon and Jordan.  Demonstrators were killed in clashes with Israel. The PLO has indicated that this is only the beginning of more protests to come. Some feel that these protests were a “trial balloon” to test the readiness and response from Israel. It is projected that the next protests will be on June 5 which is the anniversary of the 1967 war. The UN speculates that these protests could be the beginning of the 3rd intifada.

It seems that the goal of Mahmood Abbas of the PLO is to get the international community to isolate Israel, blame it for lack of progress in peace negotiations, declare the failure of peace talks, unify with Hamas, get recognition of a PLO state at the UN this September and seek to wage war on Israel.  Upon achieving these goals, Mahmood Abbas wants to retire from being the President of the PLO. The PLO would like to see the UN recognize a state so that it can take legal action against Israel at the international court of justice. In expectation of the UN recognizing a PLO state in September, the PLO has called for governmental elections in October.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that the PLO doesn’t just want a PLO state based upon 1967 borders but wants to destroy the state of Israel. Because of this, Netanyahu presented Israel’s case before the Jewish lobbying group AIPAC and the US Congress regarding the necessary security requirements of Israel in any peace deal with the PLO.  It entails the following:

a) Netanyahu wants the PLO to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
b) Netanyahu wants to keep Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
c) Netanyahu will only accept a demilitarized PLO state with an Israeli troop presence along the Jordan Valley.
d) Netanyahu would like to see PLO refugees absorbed into a PLO state rather than Israel.
e) Netanyahu will not negotiate with the PLO as long as the unity agreement between Fatah and Hamas remains and Hamas fails to recognize the existence of the state of Israel.

The PLO has rejected these views.

In a major policy speech regarding the current situation in the Middle East, Obama voiced support for democratic Arab uprisings. He stated that a PLO state must be based upon 1967 borders with agreed land swaps. The Quartet (US, UN, EU and Russia) quickly endorsed the US position. The US doesn’t seem to recognize Jerusalem as being solely belonging to the state of Israel.  In a visit by a  US state department official to the Middle East, it was stated that the official was visiting: “Israel, Jerusalem and the West Bank”.

Israel rejected Obama’s peace parameters for an agreement with the PLO based upon 1967 borders because they view that these borders are not defensible and threaten the existence of the state of Israel.  Israel officials also said that Obama is detached from true realities in the Middle East.

The PLO rejected Obama’s peace parameters by saying that they didn’t go far enough in endorsing the PLO position. The PLO is proclaiming that the peace process is dead and that there only alternative is to seek a PLO state through the United Nations in September.

Various Middle East leaders do not trust the policies of President Obama and find great fault with current US policy regarding the Arab uprisings and the US position on the peace process.  As a result, it seems that war is looming in the region.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant has been successfully launched. In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process

The PLO announced that they will establish their interim unity government in the next week. A Senior PLO legislator declared that Fatah and Hamas will never recognize Israel. Leading Hamas officials stated that they will accept a PLO state but they will not recognize Israel. The PLO are planning a day of protest on May 15 against the establishment of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948. PLO officials have warned that this could be the start of a 3rd intifada.  President Obama has announced that he will reveal a new Mideast peace strategy next week. Obama will host Jordanian leader King Abdullah on May 17.  Obama is tentatively scheduled to give his Mideast speech on May 19. He will be meeting Netanyahu on May 20. After meeting with Netanyahu, Obama will fly to Europe. He will be in Europe when Netanyahu gives his speech to a joint session of Congress on May 24.  Given the planned schedule of Obama, it appears that he is going to give the “cold shoulder” to Netanyahu and show him the utmost of diplomatic disrespect. Debka is reporting that Obama is pursuing a strategy to empower the Muslim Brotherhood. The fall of Egypt and a Hamas / Fatah reconciliation agreement is part of this strategy. It appears that Obama’s speech next week will not be friendly toward Israel.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

Fatah and Hamas have made an agreement to reconcile their differences and form a united PLO government.  In response, Israel suspended tax transfers to the PA.  UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon called upon Israel to release the tax funds. The European Union decided to provide 85 million euros to the PA to make up for the frozen funds. Netanyahu said that the Hamas-Fatah agreement is a blow to the peace process. Hamas is willing to accept a PLO state but they said that they will never recognize Israel. The USA said that Hamas must accept the principles of the Quartet for the US to recognize it. England and France have given mixed messages regarding their response to Hamas-Fatah reconciliation. On one hand, they said that they won’t recognize the new PA if it doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist. However, they also said that should no progress be made on the peace process that they are considering recognizing a PLO state in September.

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process
2) The US dollar trading near an all-time low

Fatah and Hamas have made an agreement to reconcile their differences and form a united PLO government.  Mahmood Abbas says that he will continue to lead any peace talks with Israel.  PM Netanyahu says that Abbas must choose between Hamas or peace.  Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, says that they will never recognize Israel.  The UN, US and the EU have reacted cautiously to the announcement of a PLO unity government stating that the PLO must recognize Israel’s right to exist.  The strategy of the PLO is that they believe that they will get recognition of a PLO state at the United Nations in September and with that recognition they do not need to negotiate peace with Israel.  Meanwhile, Netanyahu will be in Europe next week  to lobby against European countries recognizing  a PLO state at the UN in September.  Egypt has decided to open the Rafah crossing to allow goods into the Gaza Strip.  Due to the smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip, this is a threat to Israel. Prior to the PLO reconciliation agreement, it was rumored by a Kuwaiti newspaper that Netanyahu secretly agreed to a PLO state with East Jerusalem as its capital and giving control of the Temple Mount to the  international community. The Israeli government denied the rumors.  Finally, 350 rabbis in Israel signed a petition declaring that withdrawing from the West Bank was religiously forbidden.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

The US dollar index is trading near a 3 year low and close to an all-time low. As a result, Gold and Silver hit an all-time high this week. Meanwhile, energy and commodity prices continue to increase.  Oil is trading around $113.  The cost of gasoline has now risen to over $4 a gallon.

A collapse of the US dollar and the establishment of one world currency is a tribulation event.

From a Biblical prophetic perspective, the reason why the God of Israel would allow these events to happen is because it will result in the end of the exile of the house of Jacob and the reunification of the 12 tribes of Israel (Ephraim and Judah).

We will to be “watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem” and we will not rest until the God of Israel makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62).

In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process
2) The buildup in the Middle East for war with Iran
3) Events leading to the collapse of the euro and US dollar

If Israel doesn’t initiate a peace plan in the near future, the Quartet (EU, US, UN and Russia) are threatening to recognize a PLO state based upon 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.  Catholic, Jewish and Muslim religious leaders called upon Obama  to recognize a PLO state based upon 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Britain, France and Germany are pressuring the US to immediately establish a position on the peace process and for Obama to initiate a peace plan.  Reports are that the Obama administration has been debating on the parameters of a US peace plan.  One of the current ideas is that a US peace plan would entail a PLO state based upon 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Israel would be provided with security and the PLO would give up the right of return of refugees.  Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel cannot compromise on two key issues: Israel being a Jewish state and Israel maintaining a security presence along the Jordan Valley. The PLO’s position is the right of return is non-negotiable and that they will never accept an Israeli military presence along the Jordan Valley in any final status agreement.  The PLO plans to get the UN Security Council or the UN General Assembly to recognize a PLO state based upon 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital this September. Mahmood Abbas said that it would be illogical for the US to block a PLO state this September at the UN. If the UN recognizes a PLO state this September, a member of the Israeli government, Uzi Landau, suggested that Israel should annex the settlement blocs in the West Bank and possibly even the entire West Bank.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

Saudi Arabia is concerned about the growing influence of Iran in the Middle East and the threat it would impose to the Saudi government. Saudi Arabia is also concerned about the US lack of commitment to restrain the Iranian influence and the lack of support that the US showed toward former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak which led to his departure as President of Egypt.  As a result, Saudi Arabia is leading an effort of the Gulf Security Council to military protect their interests against Iran. Part of this plan is standing with the existing goverment of Bahrain against civilian protesters.

A US war with Iran is a tribulation event.

Greece is now paying over 19% to finance 2 year bonds. Finland is threatening to veto a possible EU bailout of Portugal. For the first time since the great depression, US government cash handouts to its citizens is exceeding its tax revenue. For the first time in history, the credit agency Standard and Poor’s has downgraded America’s credit outlook from stable to negative. Leap2020.eu, a European think tank, is now predicting a collapse of the US dollar (a 30% devaluation) this fall.  The BRICS countries (Brazil, Russian, India, China and South Africa) agreed to open credit lines denominated in their own currencies rather than the world’s reserve currency, the US dollar. Together, the account for nearly 40% of the world’s currency reserves. All these things create the condition for a collapse of the euro and the US dollar.

A collapse of the US dollar and the establishment of one world currency is a tribulation event.
